According to sources, the England captain, who has impressively netted 32 goals this season, possesses the ideal attributes to thrive at Real Madrid. Nonetheless, uncertainties arise regarding his age, the financial implications of his potential transfer fee, and the reluctance of Tottenham Hotspur to part ways with their prominent player.

Initially, Real Madrid's intention was to acquire a backup forward such as Espanyol's Joselu, while delaying a substantial investment in a primary striker until next summer. This strategic approach aimed to coincide with Benzema's anticipated departure from the club in 2024.

Surprisingly, Benzema's unexpected decision to depart this month, accepting an offer from Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, has compelled Real Madrid to revise their plans in order to secure a high-quality attacking force for the upcoming season.
